Today I met with a family that are staying up at Montville and they come from Brisbane, Taiwan, and Hong Kong so lovely and welcoming a stranger into their little bit of paradise, Chinese New Year is on Monday so its an awesome time to get together with family. The location was perfect a 100year old house a view of the Baroon Pocket Dam and beautiful gardens.

So great to meet you all and I hope you love your sneak peak, safe travels .....oh and Happy New Year!!

Lincoln, is 9 months old and such a cutie, I didnt have to work to hard to get some gorgeous smiles!

Light, The afternoon light was perfect!

One of the best parts of my job, is to be asked back to do some photos and see how much a little newborn bubba has grown. It is nearly 1 year to the day since I took baby O's picture.

And my my how has he grown??!!!

Today we met at Currimundi for some 1 year old photos. The weather threatened but we stayed strong and it turned out to be perfect.

Big boy Mr O was such a trooper, and he loved my wagon. I love to get clients back and to see how their family is growing.

Wedding: Mt Cootha Summit: Jo & Trev { Mt Cootha Wedding Photographer}

Although the weather forecast predicted showers and storms, nothing was going to rattle this couple today.Turned out that the weather was perfect!

The union of Trev & Jo blends two families into one, and it was extra special to have all the children and grandchildren there to witness.

The ceremony against the gorgeous backdrop of Brisbane at Mt Cootha was beautiful with one of Jo's daughters singing a beautiful song, accompanied by a beautiful harp.

G & C called me to buy a bump to baby package, as they were about to add another addition to the family.
The photo shoot was done in their beautiful yard. This large tree in the yard was the best prop anyone could ask for, I absolutley adored the tree and can see that the children are going to grow up with great memories of the tree, cubby houses, and tyre swings!

Baby Abigail made her way into the world 48 hours after I shot Cathy's maternity photos, got in just in time!!

Today I went back to Cathy and Grant's house to meet the latest addition Miss Abigail, she had a rough night (as well as mum and dad) but she and they performed like troopers! Grant and Cathy your littlest addition is surely a blessing to your family.

Congratulations to everyone including big big sister, and big brother

Mr L, is so perfect, and de really was such a delight yesterday as we met and photographed him.

His dad is a mad keen AFL West Coast Eagles supporter and I think this little man is going to be one as well!

We had a great time with Mr L providing us with some great entertainment!!!

I love the print that his mum and dad have in his room and I was so excited when I found a piece of fabric that matched perfectly to his room to use a s a wrap.

2 pink little girls

Well I think would be the most popular colour in this house.

Friday 5th August, I went to landsborough to photograph 2 perfect little girls, Miss C who is 3 and Miss baby J who is 4 months old.

Mr C has a bundle of energy as any 3 year old has, and kept me on my toes today. After a few snaps of Miss we moved on to Miss J, who came early (10 weeks early) suprising all involved. She is doing so well, and only for her small size you wouldnt know she was so premmie!!

If you havent heard me say the perks of this job are great, I'll will now say it again.
I love my job!
I have the pleasure of photographing little babies, holding them, soothing them, and snuggle them.
It really is the best job in the world!!

I was very excited to photograph Mr R, he was just so sweet and adorable. He has the most perfect little lips, perfect for smoochin!

I love it when I can get other generations in on the newborn shoot and it is great to have Great Grandma (Old Nan) available to hold her first great grandchild.

Sunny Coast baby and kids market

Saturday 23rd July was the Sunny coast baby and kids markets, in Nambour. I set up mini studio so that I could take little ones pictures of those that visited the markets. We then printed them out and put them into a little photo frame fridge magnet for their parent to take home, at a small cost.

It was so great to see babies that we took photos of last time growing up!

How fab are these kids! We have the best looking kids on the coast!

Wow, what an awesome day today was, the weather was perfect, the bride and the groom were perfect!

Today I went to Brisbane to photograph the wedding of Kerrie and Jamie, the weather of late has been awfully cold and being a winter wedding I thought we were going to be freezing, the weather turned out to be gorgeous!

A morning wedding meant that our photos were to be taken in the middle of the day, and anyone who knows about photography knows that this is a challenge. We ventured down to Shorncliffe Pier and took a few shots, the groom persuaded a nearby fisherman to lend him his fishing rods for a couple of shots. After spending a bit of time in the sun it was time to hit the shade, where we took some shots with the sea in the background, the sea was a costant theme for the wedding so it was good to have blue skies and blue water!

Kerrie wore a beautiful strapless dress with a hoop underneath that was fun to work with!, as Kerri father had passed away I offerred to make her a pendant with a photo of her dad (on his wedding day)to attach to her bouquet, the car that the bride travelled in belonged to her dad as well so it was so lovely to include those special things into her day.

Bump to baby....{Sunshine Coast pregnancy and newborn photographer}

This preganacy shoot was to happen at the beach but unfortunantely the weather had other ideas for us, to cold and to wet. So we did what all smart people do on cold and rainy days, we play inside. A & P are about to have their first baby, and with only a few weeks to go the bubs nursery(snoozery) is looking great, sprinkled with treasures from both parent's childhood, memories of travelling adventures and sweet little handmade bunting made by mum to be!

Mumma P you are certainly glowing and pregnancy suits you!

This morning I met the S family, we had to postphone on another occasion because the youngest come out in some little spots!

Today I spent a bit of time with this family at their home in Buderim. I was there to photograph the latest addition to the family, and a special boy who has been promoted to big brother. Today I took a little drive to Warner to meet this new little family, Mum, Dad and their little treaure Mr A.

Mr A is two and half weeks old and was such a good boy for his first official photoshoot. You could say that this little treaure was as good as gold. He slept nearly through the whole photoshoot. His mum and dad said that had been having a rough morning but he was just the perfect bub for me.

I absolutely love capturing these little ones, and creating memories for families.

The G family captured in time {Mooloolaba family portraits}

I had the pleasure if catching up with the G family while they were having a little getaway at Mooloolaba, this weekend.

Mr G, I have know for many years and Mrs G I have met before, but I had not had the pleasure to meet their children. 3 beautiful girls Full of beans Miss E & Miss O and the very sweet Miss L.

They laughed, they smiled, they explored, they had some fun.

They were simply themselves …. which is what I love, children can be hard work at family portraits especially when there is a little bub involved. Someone of to the side to get the baby to look up at the camera all the while trying to keep everyone else looking at the camera! anyway we did have some fun with that little bubba and she wasnt giving any smiles away today, not directly at the camera anyway.

This weekend just gone was a huge weekend for me, two shoots of two beautiful families.

The first one I am unable to post any pics of but suffice to say the images look great and this day was worth the wait for the beautiful afternoon light we had. We have had some very wet weekends recently and this was this families 3rd time lucky and we made it. This was the second time that I had photographed this family. There little biy Mr R is growing into a little man and about to get a promotion of big brother with the arrival of his little sister in coming months.

Also on Friday, I was able to be part of another family documenting their family history as well, and it is here I met Liittle Miss T.

What an independant age two is!! they are usually interested in everything else but me and my black camera. But, it is also the age when their little personalities really begin to shine.
I dont really mind this age to shoot as long as I am prepared to move quick and adjust my shooting position many times.

On Friday I met the newest addition to this household. Mr E, such a dream baby so placid, a well behaved little man. I think its my only newborn shoot for a while that I havnt been christened,
(especially from a boy, they get you when you are not prepared).

I love how unpredictable babies are when you are at a shoot, I love that they are awake for some of the shots, to get great eyes open shots and then I absolutley adore the milk drunk look, that they get and then you can pose them and they sleep right the way through it.

Well I would like all to meet my lovely nephew Cooper. I had the chance to fly to Canberra to meet him and of course I happened to have my camera with me. Here is a sneek peek of some of the photos I took while in Canberra.

Little Cooper also has a big borther named Blake and I also had the opportunity to take his photo as well.

We also headed into Canberra and onto the Carillion on the lake while we were taking photos the Carillion played beautifully. This was a great place to have family photos as this is were Cooper and Blakes Mum and Dad got married.

Perfect Day for a Wedding

Well some of you may know that here in South east Qld we have had more then our fair share of rain and flooding, but yesterday turned out to be a perfect summer day.

Jac and Phil, had a couple of glitches in ther wedding day plans due to the Brisbane floods, but this day was PERFECT, COLOURFUL AND FUN.

The day started Jac getting ready at her new home, and getting a lift to the church in a 1962 Jaguar, followed by a lovely service at Bridgeman Downs Baptist.

After the service we headed off to a few locations

First one was Pine Rivers Park: and how much fun did we have when we got there and a unanimous decision

to have some fun on the Dodgem Cars!

Next location was Shorncliffe Pier, where the bridal party frocklicked in the water, invited into a beach cricket game with some unknown family. And to top our colourful day a new peice of art work has been installed at the Pier, I dont know if this is temporary or permanent but its like a little hill painted all bright colours just perfect to top off our day.

Preserving precious memories

I am so passionatte about preserving family memories that are damaged.

I have just got a photo of my husbands great grandfather this photo was taken when he was about 18 years old (circa 1910) and has been damaged, this image was intrusted to me by his uncle to restore.

I restored the image and originally it was a sepia colour so I returned it that tone.

Here is the damaged and then restored photo

As we have had so much rain and flooding in Brisbane if you have some family photos that have been damaged due to water and mould/mildew, call or email me for your special deal
(flood effected families only) if you were not effected by the floods and still have a photo that you would like restored contact me, as soon as possible as the longer you leave it the more damage is done to the image the harder the process to restore the image

Just before I went on holidays I met with this family, who have been friends of ours for a very long time, P wanted some family photos of her children and grandchildren that live in other states. So they were all up over the Christmas period and I had them pleasure of taking some photos for them. I was never going to one of "those people" who didnt blog every session, but alas I have turned into one of "those people".

I dont know what happened first came the rush of the Christmas period and then I went on holidays, back to work, school holidays.....

And today is the first day in a while that I have had the chance to blog, so here is what I have done in the last few weeks, and I promise from know on I wont be one of "those people".

I will start with Baby T
A beautiful baby he was 8weeks old when I went to Dayboro to meet him and his family, he was such a good boy, he was awake for a bit the went off to sleep for some amazing sleeping baby shots. I LOVE BABIES, it must be the best part of my job.

I was looking through some of my photos that I have taken over the last year or so and I love that I have a few repeat clients that allow me take photos of them to update their family photos.

Here are just a few and my, how some of them have grown, Remember that life goes by in a blink, so call me to update your family photos

SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR 2011

This is a project that I would like to work on in time for Mothers Day 2011. It is called my

By spoiling a few mums , single mums, grandmothers (who have full time custody of their grandchildren) who are doing it hard and give them a little makeover and a photoshoot, with their children. In such hard financial days I relise that proffesional studio photography is an expense some families just cant afford.

So why am I writing this note: I am looking for a proffesional stylist who would like to give back to the community some time and skills to make this happen. No money will change hands and the family will recieve an individual picture of Mum and a family picture printed and framed and delivered to their door, in time for Mothers Day.
Would love to do the same for Fathers Day as well.
Can you help?, do you know anyone who may be willing to help make some lasting family memories for some special families?

Sunshine on a cloudy and rainy day

Today I travelled to Noosa to meet a family from Brisbane that had been staying at Noosa for a little getaway. We had changed the original date of this shoot due to the rain to today. As I was leaving for the shoot it was pouring with rain and I thought for sure we would be shooting indoors with the studio lights. After setting up the lights and getting a few shots we turned around and the sun was poking out and some blue sky in the distance. We went out into the glorious afternoon sun and took some sweet shots.

What a glorious day yesterday turned out to be. With the forecast to be rain for the weekend, I picked up a beautiful umbrella just in case. Luckily for us the weatherman is not reliable!!!

The sun came out and beautiful blue skys greeted us on Saturday. M & R looked absolutley in love with each other as they made a formal commitment at Bribie Island Fairways Rooftop, with spectacular views to Moreton Island.

Today I Met George and Jenny and their very sweet little man Adam.
Adam doesnt speak english and I dont speak Chinese so this was a little different today.
However it doesnt matter what language you speak, children are just so precious. So someone pulling faces behind the camera or the photographer doing silly things still gets a beautiful smile.
Today was a special day for George and Jenny and I was honoured that they asked me to create some special memories for them.

Well today was the day that I met their precious son Max, he is beautiful and was a star at his first photoshoot.

Awake when asked and slept when asked, perfect little fellow. We also escaped being peed on which is always tricky when photographing young boys!!
This little man is 4 weeks old and in my passed experience this age babies, arent so sleepy and posable, so what an absolute suprise when he went straight to sleep after some outside time by the canal and totally posable.
And I got to try out my new prop, this fantastic cradle!

Dad, you are right he needs an agent!! He is a star.

So sweet, no new and ready to be loved. He is infact 8 days old! I had a lovely time visiting his Mum and Dad this afternoon, and getting to know this little fellow.

He is a real blessing to his parents, who thought we werent going to be successful today as he was having a grumpy day. But a little persistance pays off, (oh and a whole heap of feeding helps to!!)

Saturday the weather forecast wasnt looking good (rain at times).....grrr not really want the bride or the photographer wanted.

The bride looked absolutley beautiful, and the groom looked fantastic. Their little fellow Archie did a marvelous job of getting those rings down the aisle (eventually, and lucky they were tied on tightly).

Well the rain held off for the wedding (yeah) and due to some renovations being done at the venue location pictures were taken inside, utilising this fab room incorporating huge pool table, leather lounges and a grand piano.

This time last year this beautiful couple were gearing up for a wedding in Thailand and I had the opportunity to take wedding photos in such a beautiful location: Koh Samui.

This year this couple are gearing up for a new adventure: the arrival of baby G.

Grandma's Birthday Present

To celebrate Grandma's special birthday, the family decieded to all get together and have a family portrait done. As most people know, getting 4 family groups together on the one day at one time can be a nightmare, because normally someone is always missing. But not today

Although it was windy and our feet hurt from walking over the rocks and broken shells, you all did a super job.

Today I met this little man, 5 week old sweetness, goodness and cuteness in one little bundle. What a good bub this little man was, I thought he wasnt going to go to sleep for us and then the tricky little fellow went off to sleep and we were able to pose him in all kinds of positions.

Photo Restoration

One of the other things that I have had an interest in, is restoring photos that have been damaged to due water, heat and humidity.

This image that I have been working on was taken in 1929, and was mounted on to a tin frame. The image had a large crack near the face and was all crackled and craized.

I was able to restore the image and reprint it for my client.

I love restoring family treasures, call me for a quote on a damaged image.

Mothers Day Shoot at the Shorncliffe Pier {family portrait photographer, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast}

After a very wet week last week, it was great to see the sun out.

Today I spent the day at Shorncliffe Pier with the Auston kids for a very special mothers Day shoot.

The day was perfect with scrumtious late afternoon light, little or no wind and perfect children.

I love family portraits, interacting with the children and encouraging them to explore the location.

We went on the pier, under the pier, in the water, on the rocks, we even got a little bit dirty!!

I love it when the models tell me they hate photoshoots but this one was FUN !

Today I met Miss K who is a whole 9 days old, so sweet. This little one kept us on our toes going through a few baby wipes today! She was mostly awake for the whole session, so not many sleepy baby shots here today. Such a sweet little baby and has the most fantastic dark blue eyes.

What a job I have, I love to photograph new little sqishy babies and here is my latest sqishy little one named Joshua. I have been photographing his mum for a pregnancy month by month collage and today we had her last picture and his newborn shoot.

Joshua was born three weeks early and slept so peacefully today and only woke for a top up feed and then straight back to sleep. Slept through the numorous poses and clothing changes I had for him.

What a delight to photograph.

Pregnancy Collage {Pregnancy Photographer} {Sunshine Coast}

Way back in Juy I came across an idea to offer a month by month pregnancy shoot and then make it into a collage. Problem was I needed to find someone who was very early in their pregnancy, everybody I knew had just given birth or about to.

In comes the wonderful world of facebook, put the idea on my page and not very long after that Paulas name was put forward to me. Paula and Andrew agreed to be involved with my idea and so here we are today with my first pregnancy collage.

Andrew and Paula came and saw me every month for these photos, the baby was born just days after I did her final picture

At the beach with friends

This family is very special to us, we had a babies around the same time, our husbands had a change of career direction round about the same time and we had holidays together (and we are still great friends!!!) and they looked after our children when I went to Thailand to shoot Peter and Chantel's Wedding back in September (and we are still great friends!!!!!!!!!!).

So while on a visit to the Sunny Coast at Kings Beach we did a late afternoon shoot for some family portraits. Beautiful afternoon golden light I love it!!!

Baby's got blue eyes

This is Isaac and I took his portraits a couple of weeks ago while he and his mum and dad were on holidays on the Sunshine Coast. He is a little friend of Oliver that I shot in the same location a few weeks before.

How cute is this little guy, beautiful eyes, chubby little cheeks and a cute little smile.

This age is a bit tricky, because as soon as we put him on the ground he went looking for leaves, grass and sticks to put in his mouth

Well after a couple of re-schedule dates this week due to crazy weather conditions, I was finally able to meet the Bartholomew family at Peregian Beach today for their family portraits.

The boys were a ton of fun, and did great today even though I was warned this may be a tough gig with two boys who hate having their photos taken. Beach cricket, sand dune boarding and jumping was the order of the day.

I have the best job in the whole world, I get to photograph babies all weekend, and how cute is this one from my shoot today.

This is Archie and he is 7 months, while he was keen to give me a couple of smiles he was holding back on the big ones.

Rather then studio shoot today we decieded that it was such a lovely day and this family has fabulous natural bushland on their property, (that Archie is going to love exploring when he is older) that we would shoot outside.

This weekend I went to Brisbane to shoot some teenagers and their parents for a special project for Grandma.

Wow what a place to shoot a wedding. KOH SAMUI, THAILAND

Chantel and Peter had an absolute beautiful wedding in Thailand. The evening light was just beautiful. The day was fantastic. The day ended with a bang (fireworks display that the locals told us they only see ones so spectacular on celebration national days). And then the bridal party decieded to cool off in the resort swimming pool clothes and all!!!

The Year 12 students from Caloundra Christian College performed a play called "It was a dark and stormy night" and I was asked to photograph the production.
The opening night was a dinner and show production and the students performed very well.

Yesterday Miss J came into the studio for a portrait party with her friends to celebrate her 13th Birthday.
Although the girls were very nervous, they warmed up soon enough. As you can see buy our group photos they had some fun.
