While working on my folio for Tafe i was experimenting with different types of photography and found smoke photography.

I had my daughter (Photographers assistant) and me down in our studio/games room etc helping me with the smoke.

i then took the images and with the magic of colour in photoshop made these images.

one of these images i used for my folio (see folio images) and one I used for an exhibition in Maleny.

A visit to America July 08

Earlier on in the year our family had the opportunity to travel to America. We went to LA and of course took the kids to disneyland, and then on to my friend in Baton Rouge. From there we went to Philladelphia and had a great time. While in Philladelphia we visited the Liberty Bell it was here that i spotted a guards tatoo. We were waiting to have our bags searched so i turned of the beeper on my camera, lined him up (the camera was around my neck) and took the picture. It came out pretty good in the end. The guard was none the wiser and i got a cool photo. The tat on his arm is in rememberance to sept 11. Philladelphia is the next state to New York, and the liberty bell sounded many years ago to proclaim the end of slavery.

Rachal and Richie looked beautiful and was a pleasure to take photos for this special day.

Here are some of my nature and landscapes that i have taken over the last month or so. i am loving living on the sunshine coast such beautiful scenery.

Folio 2008

Here are some of my images i used for my folio this year, very excited as i recieved a distinction for this work.

The theme for this folio was the song by Louis Armstrong: What a wonderful world.

Images are for sale and come matted (you can choose size and colour of matting) ready for framing or can hang from the matted print.

first blog introduction

well here goes my first blog,

thought this was any easy way to get my business on the web, here i will post news and views and images from Kathy Hughes Photography. I will be uploading some of my folio shots as well as some baby and family portraits shot over this last year.

If you are interested in having your photographs taken for a special event like a large family gathering then i am available to take family portraits at the event or on location (e.g Beach, Parks, Gardens), or maybe you need individual head shots for your work or performances requirements.
I would also love to capture those truly wonderful and memorable moments like wedding, maternity and newborn photography.

I live on the Sunshine Coast and will travel to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Gympie.

Images from my Folio are for sale and come matted ready for framing, also available in a calander.
